Descripción de la ruta

The path starts at the Plaza de España, from where we walk in the direction of the San Nicolás del Puerto road, to take the path that goes off to the left after about 200 metres along this road.

After 3 kilometres through pastureland, the path joins the tunnel path, one of the most attractive sections of the route. It gets its name from the layout of the vegetation, which forms a green tunnel of strawberry trees, mastic trees, “durillos”, “alaternos” and other species characteristic of the Mediterranean forest.

After following the tunnel path, we reach the Ciudadeja riverbank, and it is at this point that the first of the path’s diversions starts, in this case an out-and-back route that will take us to the Nuestra Señora de Belén hermitage.

After this diversion, the path continues downstream, with typical landscapes of gallery forest, formed by poplars, ash trees, alders… as well as the cultural attraction of the old water mills that the walker will discover.

After reaching the area known as La Molineta, we find the second branch of the trail, again an optional round trip that will allow us to enjoy the Molino del Niño Dano, one of the best preserved.
If you do not wish to do without the diversion, you can continue along the circular route towards Las Navas through the green tunnel that makes up the El Tesoro path.
